Summary
This position is located in the morale, warfare and recreation department in the Navy region Southwest.as a working leader of the primary purpose of this position is to assist in ensuring that the staff is trained and ready to work while participating and maintaining the grounds and turf of the golf course in professional plane condition.

Duties
Responsible for passing on instructions and directions received from supervisor. Sets pace for accomplishing duties. Assistant training of new employees, ensuring staff member is ready for work and has the proper skills, knowledge, equipment, and supplies to perform duties. Ensure schedules and priorities are notifying Supervisor of status and/or progress of work in any delays that may occur. equipment and tools are returned and stored properly
Assist the general care and upkeep of golf trees, fairways, bunkers, hazards, putting greens, golf flags, sand traps, and other facilities on golf courses, lawn, bowling greens, and other special lawn areas. Help in diagnosing, lawn and grass diseases, and applies proper curative treatments. Rakes sand traps, and replaces with fresh sand as may Be required. Operates of variety of vehicles and tractors, using attachments to till, cultivate and grade new turf areas. Cut turf from green and tree areas using hand and power mower. Connect hose and sprinkler systems designated points to irrigate turf.
Endures Grounds policed and thst trash and garbage are disposed of properly.

Must have working knowledge of ground maintenance and accepted methods used in seeding, mowing, and replacing grasses used on golf courses in bowling greens. Must have knowledge of soil, chemicals, equipment, use for maintenance and upkeep of golf courses in Bowling Green; common grass diseases and pest and environmentally approved methods used for eradication. Ability to follow oral and rented instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with others. Must possess or be able to obtain certificate of completion of environmental training. A current drivers license is required when operating vehicles.
