Summary

The position is a Nonappropriated Fund position located in the Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach. The primary purpose of this position is to provide a variety of clerical support, processing and maintaining records and documetns essential to the operation where assigned.

Duties

  • Performs administrative clerical duties. Complies reports, prepares correspondence, and answers questions based on records/reports maintained. Maintains records, reports, files, departmental regulations, directives, etc., and posts changes as required. Assures reports are forwarded in a timely manner.
  • Answers incoming telephone calls and providing requested information or routes calls to appropriate area. Greets visitors providing assistance or directs them to a appropriate personnel. Responds to follow-up information from inquiries and callers.
  • Receives, logs and routes incoming correspondence. Locates and attaches appropriate file to correspondence requiring action. Prepares outgoing correspondence for supervisor's signature. Established suspense dates as directed, ensures completion of follow up. If needed, records payments on daily activity records (DARS), submits all payments to Central Cashier and maintains files.
  • Maintains time and attendance records as assigned. Assists with monthly inventories and audits as needed. Monitors stock and supply levels for facility, orders supplies as directed. May operate motor vehicle for special trip assignments ensuring compliance with traffic and safety laws.
  • Performs general housekeeping duties to ensure proper standards of apperance, cleanliness and safety of assigned areas. Performs other related duties as assigned.


Requirements

Conditions of Employment

  • Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successful completion of background investigation. Background Investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
  • Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Any discrepancies must be resolved as a condition of employment.


Qualifications

  • Knowledge of basic mathematical calculations.
  • Able to organize and maintain files, records and reports.
  • Able to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Must have valid driver's license.
  • Knowledge of office procedures and equipment.
  • Ability to use PC and software applications such as Word and Excel.
  • Ability to enter, correct and retrieve routine information.


Education

Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
