Patrick & Henry Community College is a comprehensive two-year institution committed to student success, lifelong learning, and enrichment of the quality of life in the region it serves. Patrick & Henry offers 29 associate degree programs, 12 certificate programs and 38 career studies certificate programs. The college also delivers a variety of nontraditional programs such as customized workforce development training, industry-recognized certifications, developmental and transitional programs, and courses for personal enrichment.

Purpose of Position:
  • Teach Construction Skilled Trades
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Teach construction trade courses including NCCER Introductory Craft Skills, HVAC,.
  • Plumbing, or Carpentry courses to Fast Forward students.
  • Classes are typically held in the evenings, for a period of 12 weeks.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly learning environment in classroom and labs.
  • Schedule NCCER testing online with the Career Center.
  • Perform and document students' NCCER performance tests.
  • Document and report student grades and attendance.
  • Communicate with Fast Forward Coaches regarding student challenges.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • At least three years of work experience in area of expertise.
  • Must possess NCCER Master Training certification or be willing to obtain certification previous to course start.
  • Certificate, industry certification, or associate degree.
  • Demonstrate knowledge, skills, and experience in area of instruction.
  • Ensure that course equipment and materials are utilized to support course goals.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to promote learning including online teaching platforms and video conferencing tools.
  • Ability to engage, teach, and communicate with a diverse population of students.
