Records, analyzes and reports test results. Writes testing plans and maintains test documentation in accordance with applicable regulations and requirements.

Responsibilities
This position will be located at the new GD-OTS facility located in Mesquite.
Summary:
Designs, develops and implements nondestructive testing (NDT) to evaluate the properties and conformance of a material, component or system without causing damage. Records, analyzes and reports test results. Writes testing plans and maintains test documentation in accordance with applicable regulations and requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform non-destructive tests on objects or materials to examine and attest functionality and performance.
- Identifies errors and defects in equipment.
- Use of ultrasound, radiography, or other techniques during the testing process.
- May be responsible for testing mechanical compoinents, storage, or transport vessels; Like pipelines or containers.
- Performs manual tasks according to established procedures
- Requires basic skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational process
- Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines
- Works with close supervision
Qualifications
Education:
- Vocational/Technical Training Degree
- Preferred: Vocation/Technical Training Degree
- Discipline/Major: Technical school or an applicable skilled trade program
- 0-3 years prior experience
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Technical Expertise
- Problem-Solving Skills and Time Management Skills
- Manual dexterity.
- Required Newar Vision Acuity and Color Perception
- NAS 410 Certification Level 1
- Experience with start ups, such as project planning, and establishing business processes, management systems, and work instructions is desired. This is an exciting opportunity to create the business processes, systems, and culture to stand up a high performing manufacturing operation.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
- Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
- Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
- May need to stand for long periods of time.
- Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
- May be requested to work a different shift.
- This position is Safety Sensitive.
- Less than 25% travel likely.
