ROLE SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly skilled NetApp subject matter expert (SME) to join our team for a 12-month, onsite contract position in Augusta, GA. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in NetApp storage solutions, with a focus on ONTAP and core NetApp administration skills. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management, optimization, and security of the NetApp storage environment in support of mission-critical operations. A secret clearance is required for this role.

THESE ARE THE JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A NETAPP RESIDENT CONSULTANT:
  • Serve as the primary NetApp storage administrator, managing daily operations of the NetApp storage infrastructure
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and support of NetApp ONTAP solutions, ensuring high availability, data protection, and performance optimization
  • Conduct system performance tuning, capacity planning, and storage provisioning
  • Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies
  • Monitor and troubleshoot storage-related issues, providing timely resolutions to minimize downtime
  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate storage solutions with enterprise systems and applications
  • Ensure compliance with security protocols and industry best practices to protect sensitive data
  • Produce and maintain documentation, including procedures, configurations, and incident reports
  • Provide expertise and mentorship to junior team members as needed

YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO HANDLE EVERYTHING ABOVE BECAUSE YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE LIKE:
  • Active Secret Clearance (or the ability to obtain and maintain one)
  • Proven experience as a NetApp SME, with a focus on ONTAP and core NetApp technologies
  • Strong understanding of storage architecture, including RAID configurations, storage protocols (iSCSI, NFS, CIFS/SMB), and SAN/NAS environments
  • Familiarity with performance tuning, capacity planning, and data protection strategies
  • Experience with disaster recovery and backup solutions in NetApp environments
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • NetApp certifications such as NCDA (NetApp Certified Data Administrator) or NCIE (NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer)
  • Experience in DoD or government environments
  • Familiarity with security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., STIGs)
