Worksite: Vancouver, BC - someone in Vancouver area, however mostly the work is remote.

Our client, a global leading IT company, is looking for an experienced Network Architect.

Key technical skill: HPE networking
DR exposure is a strong nice to have.

The Network Architect will be responsible for overseeing complex network solutions. This role involves providing advisory services for network migrations/part of datacenter moves, ensuring vendor adherence to best practices, and leveraging cloud technologies to optimize network performance and reliability. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of LAN and SDWAN modernization, cloud consumption models, and disaster recovery strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Migration and Cutovers:
• Oversee network migration projects, provide guidance on implementing the configuration to the eNG devices based on scripts. Provide oversight of HPE networking scripting during migration changes
• Provide advisory solutions to network cutovers, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

2. Vendor Management:
• Ensure vendor adheres to industry best practices and company standards during network implementations and migrations.
• Collaborate with vendors to validate approaches and solutions, maintaining a high standard of quality and compliance.

3. Cloud and Extranet Skills:
• Demonstrate strong network cloud skills, including the design and management of cloud-based network solutions.
• Develop and maintain effective cloud extranet configurations to support business connectivity needs.

4. Disaster Recovery:
• Good understanding of Disaster Recovery, approaches to restore, structure of communication systems

5. Consultative Approach:
• Provide expert consultation to internal teams and stakeholders on network architecture and cloud solutions.
• Be a proactive communicator, unafraid to speak up and provide input, while also being open to feedback and collaborative approaches.

6. Risk Management:
• Validate network cutover and implementation approaches to minimize business risk.
• Continuously assess and mitigate potential risks associated with network changes and migrations.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Network Architect or in a similar role, with a focus on network modernization and cloud solutions.
• Knows HPE networking systems
• Expertise in HPE scripting and managing network migrations and cutovers.
• Strong understanding of LAN and SDWAN technologies and their modernization.
• Experience with disaster recovery planning
• Knowledge of cloud consumption models and cloud extranet configurations.
• Excellent consultative skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a collaborative mindset.

Pay $90/HR - $110/HR incorporated
