About the Opportunity:
Our team has partnered with a rapidly growing renewable energy company seeking a "Network Engineer" to join their team. This role emphasizes a strong understanding of Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama, Cisco switching, proficiency in Azure Networking, and Network administration and the environment currently has 8 corporate sites configured and installed.

Salary: $55-75/hr DOE on a W2 + benefits (health/dental/vision, 401k match, etc.)

Location: 2-day Hybrid in Durham, North Carolina (Tues/Thurs onsite) OR 100% remote elsewhere.

If remote, must be located in one of the following states:
AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, DE, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, MA, MD, ME, MN, MO, MS, NC, NH, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA
Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and oversee networks utilizing Palo Alto Firewalls and Cisco Switches.
• Manage and optimize policies and configurations within Palo Alto Panorama.
• Implement and oversee Palo Alto Wildfire.
• Administer DNS filtering solutions.
• Evaluate the current network state, propose enhancements, and implement necessary changes, including tunnel construction and Azure network components.
• Monitor network performance, including site-to-site tunnels and VPNs.
• Configure, install, and maintain Global Protect VPN.
• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades (including security configurations).
• Monitor system resource usage, trends, and plan for future capacity needs.
• Provide support and troubleshoot issues as requested internally or by our Network Management MSP.
• Investigate, design, and implement OT/Corporate network segregation as needed.
• Collaborate with the Network MSP vendor and other IT personnel for problem resolution, updates, and weekly status reports.
• Document network topography and topology.
• Work with ISP providers.
• Support internal partners in the Digital development group.
• Manage and maintain domain routing, DNS, and hosted zones in AWS Route 53.
• Manage DNS filtering or transition to URL Filtering in Palo Alto systems.
• Generate monthly reports on network health, DNSFilter blocks, initiative status, and other ad hoc reports as required by management/support.
• Partner with the Cyber Security Operator and Global Admin as needed.
• Support Incident Response by extracting incident-specific information from the network.
• Manage network whitelisting and blacklisting.

Required:

• 5+ years of experience, ideally in an OT and Corporate environment.
• Deep knowledge of LAN/WAN, switching/routing, firewalls, VPNs, SD-WAN, and network troubleshooting.
• Expertise in Palo Alto and Cisco products.
• Extensive Azure Networking experience.
• Proven ability to design, manage, and implement Zero Trust projects.
• Proficiency in scripting.
• Experience with OT/Corporate network segregation.
• Experience operating within a Cloud-based and M365 environment.
• Relevant certifications (ideally Palo Alto, Cisco, Azure networking, and infrastructure) are preferred, e.g., PCCET, PCNSA, PCNSE.
