A government agency in Richmond, VA is looking to fill the role of Network WAN Engineer for a 6 month contract.

Position Type: Contract (6 months Initial contract period with continuing 6-month renewals.)
Work Mode: Hybrid (in office 3 days a week, as scheduled by the manager
Interview Mode: 1 or 2 rounds of interviews, remote using Webex or Teams (webcam required), and in-person

Pay Rate Range: $43.00/hr - $52.00/hr

Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5+ years' relevant Enterprise Routing & Switching experience.
  • Cisco SDWAN Experience - Mid-Senior Level
  • Cisco ACI Experience - Mid-Senior Level
  • Network Packet Analysis - Mid Level
  • Experience with Enterprise Network Management Platforms
  • Networking Experience is a requirement and not just certifications.
  • Qualified candidates will have Cisco CCNA / CCNP is a minimum for Routing & Switching (Now known as Enterprise) or willing to earn this certification. • In-depth understanding of network & security concepts and ability to implement solutions
  • Experience with ACI, SDWAN & DMVPN desired.
  • Hands on experience with Advanced Switching environments (Examples: Nexus, IOS & IOS-XE & ACI)
  • Ability to work without supervision and function as a self-starter.
  • Experience in communicating technical situations to a non-technical audience.
  • Experience in communicating status to management and ranking personnel.
  • Flexibility to work or be contacted off-hours as required.
  • Ability to travel as needed for field installs. (5%-10% travel per month may occasionally be required
  • Exceptional written and interpersonal communications skills
Preferred Skills
  • Understanding of DMVPN based on Cisco Technology would be helpful. Advanced routing protocols (OSPF, BGP & OMP). Network Analytics with NetFlow (Stealthwatch is a plus)
Responsibilities
  • Assist with the Design, Installation, Configuration, and maintenance of network-related architectures. These architectures include Cisco SDWAN, Cisco ACI, Meraki Wi-Fi, & Cisco ISE are highly desirable. Daily activities will be supporting 2k+ network devices.
  • Support customers and employees via email, telephone, and face-to-face interaction.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to the installation, administration, and maintenance of infrastructure.
  • Demonstrate a high level of competency in multiple network & security disciplines / services.
  • Mid-Level understanding of Firewall Administration, Intrusion Prevention, Event Analysis, Network Analytics, and Packet Analysis
  • Tracks work using an industry level tracking system. Jira and ServiceNow knowledge would be helpful.
  • Responsible for scheduled and non-scheduled after-hours maintenance.
  • Act as an escalation point for other Engineers, Consultants, Management, and courts that provide state services.
