The Department of Neurological Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center invites applications for a full-time Assistant, Associate Professor, or Professor (non-tenure track) faculty position. The position will continue to build a general clinical neurosurgery practice at our Texas Health Dallas campus. There will be opportunities to build a practice in routine and complex spine procedures at the well-established community hospital with access to the resources of a major academic institution.

Spine trauma coverage is required. In support of the Department's academic mission, faculty members are expected to teach neurosurgery residents and medical students.

Qualifications
  • Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible by the American Board of Neurological Surgery and applicable credentialing and privileging standards for neurosurgery.
  • Unrestricted license to practice medicine in Texas (or the ability to obtain Texas licensure prior to appointment).
  • Demonstrated leadership and excellence in the clinical, education, service and community outreach missions of academic medicine.
  • Demonstrated excellence in mentoring, evaluation, communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must be an innovative self-starter with a commitment to excellence.
  • Must possess tenacity, self-motivation, and initiative necessary to drive the establishment, development, maintenance and growth of programs.
  • An exemplary record of leading, directing, and influencing teams.
Academically qualified for regular faculty appointment as an associate professor or professor of neurosurgery at UT Southwestern Medical School.

Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.

This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.
