This is our La Jolla PCU Nursing New Graduate posting, the following units will be participating:

• Thornton 2 East IMU/PCU-1 opening; Thornton's 2 East is a 26-bed inpatient progressive care unit, specialties include ICU stepdown, cardiac, heart failure, vascular surgery, and medicine specialties. The unit is challenging and offers a foundation for developing a critical thinking and a wide variety of nursing skills. 2 East was awarded the team Daisy award in August of 2022 for the care delivery during the COVID pandemic.
• Thornton 2 West IMU/PCU-1 opening; Thornton 2 West is a 27-bed Progressive Care Unit that specializes in the care of Cystic Fibrosis, Post Gastric Sleeve, Stroke, Epilepsy, Pre and Post lung transplant patients, general surgery and medicine patients. 2 West offers a great foundation of knowledge and innovation as our nurses are trained to care for a wide array of patient populations. The dynamic nature of the unit fosters an environment that encourages professional development.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
• California RN license by start date. Depending on applicant pool, may consider interim permits.
• BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6) months of hire date.
• Must have less than six (6) months of working RN experience.
• Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• BSN.
• Prior clinical work experience in specialty area.
• Bilingual.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

• Must be able to work various hours, days of the week, shifts, and locations based on the 24-hour Medical Center's business needs.
• Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $122,754 - $122,754 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $58.79 - $58.79

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
