Position Summary and Duties\nThis Non-CDL Driver position is responsible for safely driving our students, faculty and staff around campus and other routes as required for the business of the University. Drivers will ensure a safe, welcoming and comfortable atmosphere by providing superior customer service.Job Duties Include:\nSafely drive students, faculty, and staff around campus\nAdhere to scheduled shuttle bus routes\nProvide additional help during rush hours\nDrive charter requirements, and wheelchair lifts as needed\nComplete all paperwork clearly, legibly and on time\nBe a team member by being courteous to the other drivers and staff, clear and timely communication, reporting on time and keeping an eye out for safety issues\nPerform all position requirements, including daily fueling, cleaning, driver related maintenance, pre and post trip inspections\nPerform daily vehicle safety checks\nFollow all campus regulations in non-CDL vehicles (15 passenger or fewer)\nAttend monthly drivers meetings\nComplete annual Department of Transportation training requirements\nProvide superior customer service by having a friendly disposition, saying hello and goodbye to our riders, keeping the bus at a comfortable temperature, providing a smooth ride, keeping the bus clean, having the correct destination displayed, and properly using the DoubleMap GPS system.\nPerforms all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.

Various work schedules are available. Shuttle buses run during the week starting at 6am and ending at 12am midnight, on weekends they run from 9:30am to 1:30am.This position is budgeted at $16 to $21 per hour. Pay is based on experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications\nHigh school diploma or GED1-3 years of relevant experienceProven superior customer service skillsProven defensive driving skillsExperience working within a university settingAble to work independently and think independentlyAble to work a flexible schedule, including chartersExperience with similar vehicles and busesMust have reliable transportation and ability to meet attendance and punctuality requirementsMust be able to successfully complete driver's clearance process.Ability to support the University's goals for institutional diversity, as well as the goals and values of a Catholic, Jesuit educationWork requires some physical exertion and operation of motor vehicles. Work environment may be somewhat dirty or involve exposure to elements such as dust, fumes, cold, heat, noise, vibrations, or dampness; or working around moving parts or machines. Duties may require infrequent exposure to adverse weather conditions.
