Responsibilities*

Essential:
  • Provide functional assistance and coordination of assignments with the CRTS to ensure equipment services are provided in a time frame consistent with department goals
  • Provide follow-up services for patients that may require seating adjustments, programing of power equipment, maintenance, installation of components, training, or other related services
  • Deliver or pick-up loaner and demo equipment. Assisting patients with equipment trials
  • Coordinate and preform the scheduling and delivery of equipment, pick-ups, and in-home patient equipment set-up. Completing all required documentation to meet compliance requirements.
  • Provide services in the home care or clinic setting for pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations as appropriate and determined by the CRTS and department leadership.
  • Monitor manufacturer 'demo' equipment for proper storage and processing.
  • Attend in-services, seminars, technical training courses, and conferences as necessary to maintain current knowledge of equipment and standards required for the provision of care

Related Duties:
  • Complies with all University of Michigan and departmental standards and expectations.
  • Supports the department's commitment to continuous improvement activities and principles through positive and respectful contribution in all problem-solving and change processes at Post- Acute Care Services.
  • Provide back up support to the repair department as necessary and appropriate.
  • Participate in the development of training manuals, customer service documents and educational materials.
  • Participate in the development of WSS goals and objectives.
  • Contribute to process improvement endeavors in functional area, including policy and procedure review, maintenance, and development.
  • Assumes responsibility for personal growth and development and maintains and upgrades professional knowledge and practice skills through attendance and participation in continuing education and in-service classes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications*

  • A high school diploma or an equivalent of education and experience.
  • A valid chauffeurs driver's license or meets qualification requirements (must obtain within 30 days of employment)
  • Some experience in both engineering and rehabilitation is desirable.
  • Some knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic and computer engineering, as well as computer hardware and software is desirable.
  • This position requires moderate standing/walking, as well as lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring of patients.


Background Screening
