Monday - Friday 8:30 am to 5pm

Schedule can include occasional evenings or weekend work. This position requires frequent travel to locations across the college, utilizing a state vehicle.

Eligible for one day telework following successful completion of probationary period and approval of supervisor.

General Description:
This position will provides technical support for the College Print, NOVACard, Electronic Door Access, Electronic Key Boxes programs and all hardware, networking, applications, and equipment associated college wide. This position will assist in managing different door access projects. The NOVACard Operation Senior Technicianwill supervise a team that will perform hardware repair, support, configuration, and upgrades.

Duties and Tasks:
  • Under the supervision of the NOVACard Operations Supervisor, the individual in this position will be responsible for providing technical resolution for the the Colleges Print, NOVACard, Electronic Door Access, and electronic key boxes program, hardware and networking applications and equipment in the operations of the programs.
  • Managing projects and delegating to staff.
  • Coordinate with different departments concerning project and ensure requirements and specifications are met.
  • Provides technical expertise and day-to-day operational guidance to the department and all related software and hardware, provides onsite support for all major projects.
  • Assign tasks concerning NOVACard programs to the team, track progress, monitoring team members’ tasks, and ensuring deadlines are met based on feedback from the Supervisor’s assessment to whether the quality of the work is acceptable.
  • The NOVACard Operation Senior Technician acts as the first level escalation point for more complex or critical issues and inquiries.
  • Provide 24×7 support of all systems that fall within the responsibility of the NOVACard Operations as needed.
  • Ongoing evaluation of system software and hardware, based on best practices, to effectively accomplish the department’s goals and objectives.
  • Coordinates and schedules work assignments relating to projects.
  • Ensure team is trained on all systems and devices that are the responsibility of the NOVACard Operations department.
  • Oversee the department, by providing directions to the NOVACard Operations team when the Supervisor is out of the office.
  • Additional duties as assigned





*This position is restricted and is funded with non-continuous or non-recurring funding and is subject to continuation based on fiscal year funds and the needs of the College.


Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
Required KSAs:
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to be task and goal oriented.
  • Knowledge with card system program, electronic door access, and/or electronic key box system.
  • Knowledge of hardware point of sale devices, software installations, networks, and data communication
  • Ability to analyze and diagnose routine and unusual computer operation and card reader equipment problems; communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Ability to manage projects and delegate tasks to staff
  • Possess ability to configure devices appropriate for the various system tasks assigned.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle
  • Ability to safely move and handle 50 pounds independently.
  • Knowledge of hardware configurations, software installations, networks, and data communication.




Required Qualifications:
  • Experience working with card system program, electronic door access, and/or electronic key box system.
  • Experience in analyzing and diagnosing routine and unusual computer operation and card reader equipment problems.
  • Experience in team project management and delegation.
  • Experience in providing customer service to users and managers.
  • Experience configure devices
  • Experience working with hardware configurations and administrating database systems.
  • Valid driver’s license.
