The WW Technology Deployment org is seeking a talented and solutions-oriented NPI Deployment Engineer to contribute to delivering transformational innovation to the business. You will be part of a team with the mission to ensure that robotics technologies maturing through the development pipeline are vetted and tested in the field, during Alpha and Beta deployments, to identify and resolve issues upstream before deployments at scale. This role is a key part of a technical team, with the following responsibilities:

Key job responsibilities

• \tParticipate in strategic Deployment Readiness projects with significant technical depth and breadth;

• \tNew Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer acts as the subject matter expert for deploying, integrating, optimizing, and implementing new Robotics solutions during pre-GA phases;

• \tProvide iterative feedback on Work Instructions and execution plans to achieve consistent outputs;

• \tMaintain and follow-up on action plan(s);

• \tManage large third-party installation teams during the execution of Alpha and Beta deployments;

• \tResolve field issues and ensure root causes are addressed;

• \tEnsure compliance with safety and quality standards;

• \tDrive alignment of New Product Introduction strategy with internal stakeholders and external partners;

• \tLead field trials, contribute to deployment guidelines and test plans/procedures in order to get Amazon Robotics solutions certified and deployed;

• \tTraveling requirement for this role is up to 75%

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• \tBS in Computer Science, Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial or Software Engineering or equivalent;

• \t3-5 years relevant experience, preferably in an automation or robotics environment;

• \tContribute to engineering efforts from design to implementation;

• \tStrong process improvement mindset for Agile environments, passion for quality;

• \tTroubleshoot hardware, software and networking issues;

• \tDrive adoption of best practices in field execution in a construction environment;

• \tAble to operate in a highly ambiguous environment;

• \tExcellent business communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders;

• \tAble to write clear and persuasive papers;

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• \tMS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication or Robotics or related field;

• \tCertifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate, Linux Administrator or Linux Engineer;

• \tExperience deploying large scale robotics solutions in both Greenfield and Retrofit;

• \tTechnical expertise in Mechanical and Electrical components common in Robotics (i.e DC motors, PCBAs, metal fabrication, gears/bearings, sensors, vision systems, etc.);

• \tProficiency in Linux administration and troubleshooting;

• \tSix Sigma Green belt;
