Summary

The Non-Therapeutical Research Office, Research Study Specialist (RSS) will provide seamless communication among the various team members including the Research Coordinators, the Applied Research Scientist, and Participant Research, Interventions & Measurement Core, and investigators from other institutions. The NTRO RSS will also maintain open communication with members of the clinical staff and clinicians at the Tampa Family Health Centers. The NTRO RSS will train and work closely with the Research Coordinators and contribute as needed to aspects of clinic-based recruitment including approach, screening, consent, provision of intervention materials, provision of gift cards, and, as such, will assure successful participant interactions involved in identification, enrollment, and follow-up. They will be in routine contact with Dr. Kanetsky to troubleshoot problems that may arise at any point in study procedures.

Position Highlights:


  • This position will be instrumental in the planning and implementation of a new multi-site community-based intervention project set at local Federally Qualified Healthcare Centers (FQHCs).

  • The opportunity to build a study from the inception and work closely with Dr. Kanetsky. During the first year of the project, this position is critical for the planning and infrastructure building needed for the success of the study.

  • The ability to work with a diverse group of community stakeholders and participants.



The Ideal Candidate:


  • A critical thinker that can piece together potential issues and think about resolutions proactively

  • Has experience in RedCAP.

  • Someone who is energized by implementing change and contribute innovative ideas.

  • Is a team player and enjoys a team-based environment

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • An individual that has experience in Population Science/non-therapeutic research, particularly in the community setting

  • Would be bilingual but is not required

  • Master's Degree and one (1) year of directly relevant research experience;

  • Experience planning, organizing and coordinating multiple work assignments.

  • Experience with leading teams or projects, planning and experience with managing multiple projects, prioritizing workflows.

  • Must be able to deliver results in a timely and resource-effective manner.

  • Demonstrated strong database development and reporting.



Responsibilities:


  • Primary responsibilities of this position include high-level project organization and day-to-day management of all study aspects, including maintenance of regulatory documents and the data management platform.

  • Oversee a small team of research coordinators that are conducting work in the community

  • Manage and lead this large grant in the community

  • Develop strong relationships with internal and external customers



Credentials and Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in field relating to Public Health, Psychology, Biological Sciences or relevant field is required with a minimum of 3 years of directly relevant research experience is required. Or Master's degree in a relevant field plus 1 year of experience may be considered.

  • Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, under the process of meeting mandatory deadlines.

  • Good oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong data management and overall computer skills.

  • Must have excellent judgment and display a high degree of competence, skill, and creativity.

  • Must have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Must have ability to plan, organize and coordinate multiple work assignments, including multiple databases.

  • Must have excellent judgment, strong ability to communicate with others, and display a high degree of competence, skill, creativity and independence of thought and action.
