Overview

The Nuclear Shift Test Engineer (STE) directs reactor plant testing for his/her assigned shift (position at times requires shift work, overtime, weekends, and holidays). This includes direction of Ships Force, Radiological Controls, Trades, Inspection, and Test Technician personnel. The STE ensures testing and operations involving the reactor plant are performed safely and in accordance with NAVSEA 0989-028-5000, Manual for the Control of Testing and Plant Conditions.

Candidates must qualify as a Radiation Worker or Limited Radiation Worker.

STEs hired under this requisition will be assigned to projects which support New Construction and PSAs (Virginia class submarines) and Overhaul and Repair work (Los Angeles class submarines) in SRA, IDD, EOH, and DMD availabilities. Work will be done at the EB Shipyard and the Nuclear Regional Maintenance Department, both in Groton Connecticut.

Qualifications

Required :
  • Must be currently or previously STE qualified
  • Approximately 3 years of experience
Preferred :
  • Navy experience
  • EOOW/EWS
