Job Summary
The Nurse Educator serves as a role model, consultant, change agent and facilitator in assessing learning needs and in planning and implementing, and evaluating educational activities for the Emerson Hospital Obstetrical Nursing areas. Utilizing instructional techniques and adult & pediatric learning principles, this position develops and implements job aids, performance criteria, clinical competencies and interactive practical experiences to support staff development based on identified educational needs.
Minimum Qualifications
• Education
o Graduate of a professional school of nursing which is an accredited program in Massachusetts.
o Bachelor degree in nursing or related field preferred.
o Masters degree in nursing, education or related field preferred.
• Experience
o Five or more years of clinical nursing experience, three of which include experience in an Emergency/Critical Care setting required.
• Licensure and/or Certification
o Currently licensed as a professional nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required.
o BLS healthcare provider required.
o BLS instructor required within 6 months of hire.
o NRP instructor required within 6 months of hire.
o NRP required.

o Must have the ability read, write, and communicate in English.
