The Hospital of Central Connecticut is an acute-care community teaching hospital, we provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services in general medicine and surgery, as well as a wide variety of specialties. Staffed by our talented team of leading professionals, The Hospital of Central Connecticut provides a wide array of services throughout the region, caring for patients from birth through the end of life.
As nurse leaders at The Hospital of Central Connecticut, we strive to acquire the core competencies of self-knowledge, strategic vision, risk taking, creativity, and communication effectiveness through the creation of a healthy work environment. Responsible for 24-hour operation of an assigned patient care unit. This includes the assessment, planning, provision and evaluation of patient care and nursing services for the assigned area of responsibility. Serves as a clinical resource and role model for unit staff. Incorporates the needs and behaviors of patient's age group in planning and providing care.
Duties
Reporting to the Nursing Director, the Clinical Manager will be responsible for the 24-hour management of overall operations for a unit. Under the general direction of the Director, plans, organizes, and directs all activities of the designated departments. The Manager is accountable for the clinical, personnel, and fiscal management of assigned units. Effectively interacts with patients/families and significant others according to the needs of age-specific categories.
Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree in Nursing
• Masters Degree or current enrollment in a Masters program is preferred
• Current CT RN license
• 5 years recent, progressive acute care nursing experience.
• Demonstrated leadership skills
• Previous management experience required
