UW Medical Center-Montlake has a leadership opportunity for a Nurse Manager to join Labor & Delivery / Antepartum team.

As a quaternary care hospital, we see a high percentage (70%) of high-risk OB moms and neonates with medically complex co-morbidities. As a major academic hospital, we have 24/7 in-house coverage from: Residents, Attending Generalist OBs, Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialists, CNMs and OB Anesthesia.

Schedule

Full-time days

Perinatal services:

  • Performs approximately 170 deliveries a month.

  • Follows AWHONN staffing standards

  • 9-LDR Rooms

  • 14-Antepartum Rooms

  • 6-Flex Rooms

  • 2-Recovery Rooms

  • 2-Operating Rooms

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Recruiting and hiring

  • Supervision and planning

  • Implementation of programs to meet specific patient care needs

  • Focus on continuous improvement of the quality of patient care

  • Planning and management of the unit's budget

    The Nurse Manager will have direct oversight of more than 90 employees. to include, those that directly support the nurse manager and lead practice:

  • Four Assistant Nurse Managers

  • A Clinical Nurse Educator

  • A Clinical Nurse Specialist

    The Nurse Manager provides leadership to help build and sustain a foundation of quality and excellence in practice.

    Requirements:

  • Have/Obtain a WA state nursing license

  • Graduated from an accredited school of nursing

  • Master's degree in Nursing, Business, Healthcare Administration or related field or enrolled in Master's program.

  • Minimum of two years formal supervisory leadership experience in perinatal nursing.

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for stated requirements.
