Scripps is looking for an experienced Nurse Practitioner to support our Cath Lab at Scripps Mercy San Diego, ranked #1 in San Diego by US News and World Report.

The Nurse Practitioner will provide clinician expertise while working alongside physicians both Pre-Op and Post-Op for Cardiac Cath Lab and non-invasive procedures. Patients ranging from approximately 10-20/day.

• The ideal candidate will have a Cardiology background, be self-directed and able to work independently.

• Cardiac Cath Lab experience in caring for patient with the following procedures: cardiac angiogram, PCI, aortogram IABP, Impella, pacemaker, ILR, Cardiac ablation, etc.

Responsibilities including but not limited to:
  • Working alongside 2 other NPs Assisting with non-invasive test such as stress tests, Tilt table test, etc.
  • Write and update HPI, place preop and postop orders, admit and discharge, make referral, patient rounding, etc.
  • Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure that evidence-based practice is implemented and understood by staff

Qualifications
Required Experience/Specialized Skills:

• Minimum one year experience within a Cath Lab or Cardiology environment.
Current California RN License.

• Nurse Practitioner credential required.

• Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.

• ACLS (AHA)

• Maintains medical staff credentialing as an allied health professional.

Preferred Certification/Education/Skills:

• NP in area of Cardiology is preferred.

• Ability to speak Spanish is recommended.

• 2 years' experience in the APN role

• TNCC and/or ATCN and CNS

• 3-5 years' experience in specialty area
