Be a part-time, in-house FNP on our beautiful university campus! Provide primary care for a diverse student population focused on general medicine, gender affirming care, trauma, infections disease, minor surgical skills, dermatology, mental health, sexual health, and psycho-social medicine.
Summary of Duties
Advanced Practice Professionals (APP) provide primary care for WSU students. Providing primary care in a college health setting requires competence in general medicine, gender affirming care, trauma, infectious disease including sexually transmitted infections, minor surgical skills, dermatology, mental health, sexual health, and psycho-social medicine using current standards of care.
APP practices within the scope of their board certification to prescribe, place, and provide contraceptive products and be a resource for students seeking family planning options in a primary care clinic. Care includes educating patients, which may include: counseling on addiction, nutrition, and smoking cessation; general outreach; presentations; and trainings related to college-population positive health behaviors.
Professionalism, teamwork, preventive care, patient education and cost-effective practice styles are valued. APP providers also support the university through non-clinical work when requested.
Required Qualifications
A State of Washington Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license, prescriptive authority and National Certification must be obtained within one (1) year of employment.
Required for this position:
A State of Washington Nurse Practitioner license, prescriptive authority and National Certification must be obtained at the time of hire. Maintain current state of Washington Nurse Practitioner license and prescriptive authority through Washington State's Board of Nursing - Nursing Care Quality Assurance at all times.
DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) certification in the state of Washington at time of hire.
Maintain current national board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner with one of the following - American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a college/university setting.
Experience working with diverse populations such as nontraditional, first generations, low income and historically underrepresented populations).
Essential Duties:

15% Health Outreach, Partnership, and Leadership
5% Other duties as assigned.

Work Location and Schedule:
The position will be primarily in person on campus at WSUV. Limited remote work may be offered during breaks when students are not present.
The work schedule will be part-time 24 hours each week, scheduled between 8 am - 5 pm Monday through Friday with a few evenings and weekends required to support student programming. A specific work schedule will be set with the candidate selected for this position.
This is a 10-month position, part-time 24 hours/week, from August to May. Each year the anticipated time off will be the months of June and July, and during the December break when students are not present.
Monthly Salary:
$7,309 ($73,090/year)
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the approved salary for this position.
