Job Description
The MU Student Health Center (SHC) is a unit within the University of Missouri-Columbia's Student Health & Well-Being department under Student Affairs. The Student Health & Well-Being area consist of a network of care that includes the Counseling Center, Student Health Center, Wellness Resource Center and Community Providers.
The SHC offers medical care with behavioral health consultation and psychiatry services. As part of Student Health and Well-Being, SHC providers coordinate treatment with counselors at the Counseling Center.

Essential Functions
The Student Health Center Nurse provides quality care to patients and works with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the highest patient satisfaction. Follows all safety, security, and infection control, policies, and procedures. Performs all tasks to ensure the safety of self, patient, and co-workers.
The Student Health Center Nurse will support this mission by performing the following essential functions:
Shift
Monday - Friday; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
This position may require evening and weekend hours supporting activities and programs within the department. Occasionally division and campus projects may require additional hours outside of your normal schedule.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from a school of nursing and possession of a current Missouri license as a Registered Nurse or a temporary permit to practice nursing in the state of Missouri is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
Participation in professional nursing organization is desirable.
Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary Range: $31.26 - $43.00 per hour paid on a bi-weekly basis
GGS/PAT Level: PAT RN1

Essential Functions
The Student Health Center Nurse provides quality care to patients and works with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the highest patient satisfaction. Follows all safety, security, and infection control, policies, and procedures. Performs all tasks to ensure the safety of self, patient, and co-workers.
The Student Health Center Nurse will support this mission by performing the following essential functions:
- Measure and record patients' vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, or respiration. Prepare patients for examinations, tests, or treatments and explain procedures.
- Administering medications and or immunizations and tuberculosis testing.
- Speak to patients on the phone to give health care advice, triaging over the phone and in person, assist with medication refills, and any other needs of the patient.
- Preparing for travel visits with providers for students studying abroad or travel for leisure.
- Collect lab specimens including performing point of care laboratory testing.
- Observe patients, charting and reporting changes in patients' conditions.
- Managing care of students.
- Maintain the standards of nursing care and departmental criteria to assure they are aligned with the University of Missouri Health Care Mission and Goals.
- Participates in meetings, in-services, and quality and performance improvement groups.
- Perform patient care duties and procedures following department policy, established protocol and standard of care, or directed by Clinical Nursing Supervisor.
- May complete unit/department specific duties as outlined in department documents.
