Job Description

Purpose of Position:

Under the direct supervision of a professional nurse, practical nurse, or other assigned professional staff member, performs activities and procedures of a non-professional nature involving direct relationships with patients, or participates as a member of a treatment, nursing, medical, healthcare team in implementing appropriate regimens.

Responsibilities:

• Assists with physical care of selected patients. Performs assigned procedures such as changing of simple dressings, taking vital signs, giving enemas, ect. Records personal care given.
• Prepare patient for examination by performing assigned procedures such as temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, and measurements, and assists in the examination process and records findings on patient chart
• Observes patients' and/ or families' condition, mental state and social behavior. Reports observations.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Graduation from elementary school.
2. Successful completion of a basic skills training program for Nurse Aides, or its equivalent.
