The role you'll contribute:

The Nursing Director has accountability, authority and responsibility for quality of services, operational management , human resource management and financial management for an assigned environment(s). The Nursing Director assures evaluation of outcomes that promote high quality practice delivery in assigned patient environment . The Nursing Director provides leadership in the delivery of care and nursing practice both in the clinical unit and the organization. The Nursing Director interacts with staff, and contributes to the professional development of the leadership team in her areas of responsibility, leadership peers, and other colleagues. The Nursing Director collaborates as needed with all levels of nursing staff, interdisciplinary teams, executive leaders, and other stakeholders in relation to the delivery of quality care. The Nursing Director acts as an advocate for the protections and rights of individuals, families, communities, populations, healthcare providers, nursing, other professions, institutions, and organizations, especially related to health and safety. The Nursing Director accepts organizational accountability for services provided to recipients in their assigned areas and participates in planning the success of patient experience and outstanding customer service activities. The Nursing Director promotes a learning environment that is open, respectful, and promotes the sharing of expertise to promote the benefits of health outcomes. T he Nursing Director actively leads outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

    • Promotes care delivery with respect for individuals' rights and preferences.
    • Participates in nursing and organizational policy formulation and decision-making utilizing clinical expertise as a guideline. Assures organizational clinical policies and procedures are reviewed and updated in accordance with evidence-based practice.
    • Assesses and evaluates the quality and appropriateness of health care delivered to assigned patient population
    • Maintain knowledge of current nursing practice and the roles and functions of patient care team members.
    • Maintains current knowledge of patient care delivery systems and innovations; able to articulate patient care model and the advantages/disadvantages of each. Determines when new delivery models are appropriate, envisions them, and implements as needed.
    • Active participant or leader of clinical committees that affect patient care and outcomes.


Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
  • Kansas Registered Nurse License
  • BCLS obtained through the American Heart Association
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing


Preferred Expertise:
  • 1 year of Leadership in LDRP or NICU
