Nursing Student Technician - Medical Office

Shift: Days/2-8hr, 1-4hr/Monday-Friday

Status: Part Time/20hr week/Benefit Eligible

Location: Akron Campus Family Medicine Center

Summary:
Supports the patient care team by performing multifunctional activities such as direct patient care, under the direction of a Registered Nurse and administrative/clerical support. In medical office setting: rooms patients, takes and records vital signs and collects specimens.

Minimum Qualifications
Formal Education Required

• Must be enrolled as a full time or part time student in an accredited associate degree or bachelor degree nursing program and have completed the first clinical rotation, OR must be enrolled as a full time or part time student in a licensed practical nursing program and have completed the first two clinical rotations.
• Proven ability to read and write English, follow written and oral instructions and perform basic mathematical functions

Experience and Training Required

• Must complete Summa's orientation
• Current BLS-HCP card upon hire and maintained thereafter

Level of Physical Demands

• Heavy: Exerts 50-100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or ten to 20 pounds of force continuously to move objects.
• Exposure to blood and body fluids and sharps; risks to falls, strains, contagious diseases, etc.

$18.00/hr - $18.00/hr
The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
