Nursing Supervisor (RN), Evening/Overnight shifts with Weekend rotation.

Part time 24 hours, benefited

Location: East Sandwich

A nurse leadership position including operational and clinical responsibilities for unit-based nursing services under the direction of the Nurse Director. Participates in quality improvement, staff education, and staff supervision. Manages clinical care and supports administrative aspects of the unit.

  • Acts as a liaison with providers, nursing staff, other clinicians, and patients/families serving as a leadership presence on the unit.
  • Mentors nursing staff to achieve professional standards of practice per facility policies and procedures including documentation.
  • Orients, coaches, and supports team members to achieve stated goals for performance.
  • Performance evaluations are completed accurately and timely in accordance with organization standards, in coordination with the Nurse Director.
  • Participates in interviews and the hiring process.
  • Works with the Nurse Director to monitor and respond to patient satisfaction and patient/family concerns.
  • Strong Customer service is provided to patients and families, visitors, and other team members.
  • Supports academic and research initiatives, quality improvement as well as evidence-based practices
  • Participates in safety huddles, interdisciplinary team conferences.
  • Reviews patient care plans, quality indicators and other important documentation for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Provides coverage for and represents Nurse Director.
  • Management meetings are attended and actively participated in; may serve as co-chair of a committee.
  • Interacts and works with staff on off-shifts as a shared responsibility with other Nurse Practice Leaders and as planned by nurse leaders.
  • Responds to emergency situations.
  • Monitors budget for nursing units including supplies and staffing.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and addresses concerns with Quadramed reliability and documentation.
  • Knowledgeable of Kronos system; assists and approves employee schedules before sending to Nurse Director
  • Supports infection prevention and wound nurses in unit activities such as Biovigil and wound audits.
  • Additional department, organization, or network activities are completed per established objectives.

Qualifications

Education/Degree

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
  • Master's or Doctoral degree preferred.


Experience

  • Clinical experience preferably concentrated within the clinical specialties of the program required.
  • Certification preferred, most especially CRRN.
  • Previous supervisory experience such as nurse supervisor, clinical instructor or charge nurse preferred.


Licensure

  • Licensed (and in good standing) as a nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

  • Computer proficiency required. Microsoft office applications preferred with ability to learn new software.
