Works as an integral part of the health care/food service management team of Eating Disorders Treatment Program.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist Clinical Dietician for the Eating Disorders Center with nutritional management for low risk patients, monitoring menu selections, corrections and overall food service operations for the Center.
• Interfaces directly and effectively with both Hospital Dietary Staff and on-site cook to resolve issues concerning the overall food service operations. These interactions are coordinated between Nutrition Care Assistants, Nutrition Care Coordinators and Dietician.
• Works with the Clinical Dietician in the quality assurance program of the Department and the hospital.
• Helps plan and coordinate cooking and restaurant activities with the patients and assists with nutritional education.
• Demonstrates a commitment to professional growth and competence.
• Contributes to the productivity and cost effectiveness of the Eating Disorders Unit.
Qualifications
Completion of at least a 2-year associate degree OR two years of a 4-year degree preferred. Degree need not be in Nutrition.
Prior healthcare experience preferred but not required.
SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Requires competence in both written and verbal communication. Ability to organize and set priorities, ability to concentrate on details in a fast-paced environment.
