NON-COMPETITIVE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Current registration with the Commission on Dietetics Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or certification in Dietetics-Nutrition by the NYSED; and three years of post-registration/certification professional administrative experience in a food or nutrition program, two years of which must have been at a supervisory level.
Promotion: Candidate must be reachable on the Civil Service List for Nutrition Services Administrator 2.

Duties Description POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Nutrition Services Administrator 2 will provide Nutritional Service oversight to both CNY and Broome. The NSA 2 will directly
supervise 2 NSA 1s (1 at CNY and 1 at Broome). NSA 2 will provide direct supervision to 10 Dieticians and indirect supervision to
14 dietitians. NSA 2 will provide direct supervision of the Head Cook and provide oversight of the Food Service Department at
Vally Ridge.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversight and support of the food service program at Valley Ridge (Broome).

Conducts site visits to complete mealtime observations ensuring compliance with food preparation, sanitation, and safety standards, and individuals health and safety.

Develops, reviews, implements, and monitors program policies and procedures and updates them per standards and regulation requirements, including service forms and documentations; oversees the development and maintenance of nutritional manuals and guidance materials.

Maintain a caseload of at least 1 residential IRA with more than 3 people residing there. Conducts, reviews, and completes nutrition assessments. Develop, review, and evaluate special diets, food plans, modifications, and recipe standardization.

Represent nutrition on work groups and committees including but not limited to; OPWDD statewide committees and discipline Coordinator committees.

Agency liaison for both agency and outer agency facilities. The NSA 2 will provide guidance, direction and training on nutrition counseling, food preparation, sanitation, and safety standards.

NSA 2 will work closely and maintain professional working relationships with department heads: OT and Speech to ensure the OPWDD consistency modified diets are followed appropriately and Director of Nursing to ensure infection control and disease prevention.

Provide staff training in nutrition to direct care staff on a regular basis on nutrition and consistency.

Completes monthly audits to monitor program operations to ensure the nutritional health and well-being of individuals served and compliance with established standards, laws, rules, and regulations.

NSA 2 will determine and oversee all staff assignments including short- and long-term coverage, manage all supervisory duties including by not limited to department hiring, times approvals, mileage approvals, performance evaluations, telecommuting plans, etc.

Other tasks as directed by the Director or Bridge Deputy Director.

40% travel is required.
