Summary

Supports the Women's and Children's Center through clerical, patient care, and surgical scrub duties.

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers
• Completion of an accredited surgical technologist training; or engaged in the practice of obstetrical technology in a health care facility before January 1, 2018
• Hired after (01/01/2018) and not certified, must successfully complete no less than 15 hours annually continuing education concerning the practice of obstetrical technology and must maintain records with Human Resources.
• Note: A health care facility may employ a person who does not possess the qualifications prescribed by subsection 1 to engage in the practice of surgical technology at the health care facility if, after conducting a thorough and diligent search, the health care facility is unable to employ a sufficient number of surgical technologists who possess such qualifications. A health care facility may continue to employ such a person after the health care facility determines it is able to employ a sufficient number of surgical technologists who possess such qualifications. Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree
• Prior experience in obstetric or operating rooms
• Successful completion of non-violent crisis intervention course
