AdventHealth Avista Obstetrics Medical Director Duties

Physician shall provide medical director duties as described below, and as much time and effort as are reasonably needed for the proper conduct of such services, within the limits of the payments to be made by the Hospitals.

Physician will function in a leadership role for the AdventHealth Avista New Life Center

§ Chair and lead the New Life Center multi-disciplinary safety/quality committee.

§ Collaborate with the department chair of obstetrics to provide assessment of the performance and clinical standards for obstetrical providers.

§ Be a member of the AdventHealth Rocky Mountain Region Women's Service Line Governance Council.

§ Collaborate with nursing leadership to assess best practices for the care of patients in the New Life Center.

§ Work closely with the neonatal and anesthesiology medical directors in the New Life Center to assure communication, collaboration, and thoughtful partnership between services.

Quality Assessment

1. Actively participate and provide physician leadership in the implementation,

tracking, and performance of quality improvement efforts within the New Life Center.

2. Assist and actively participate in reducing readmission rates via the emergency

departments of organization hospitals.

3. Actively participate in quality assessment, improvement, and educational processes.

4. Assist in the preparation for accreditation surveys.

5. Assist in the peer review process for obstetrical providers.

6. Assist with the implementation of new program components as a means of advancing programmatic quality.

Patient Satisfaction

1. Assist in working toward meeting expected patient satisfaction goals for the New Life Center.

Administration/Program Leadership

1. Assist with the development and review of the Service Line's clinical

policies and procedures.

2. Support and provide input into the annual capital and operating budgets as they

relate to clinically-related issues.

3. Actively provide leadership in the strategic planning efforts of the Service Line.
