This Occupational Therapist will plan, organize, develop, and provide Occupational Therapy Services in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and as may be directed by the administrator, to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.

Essential Functions

• Provide occupational therapy services to residents and initiates referrals when appropriate and in accordance with Therapy Department Procedures.

• Conduct screenings of residents at regular intervals to determine need for intervention/treatment.

• Evaluate residents to obtain data necessary for treatment planning and implementation and conducts specialized evaluations as indicated.

• Interpret and communicate evaluation findings to residents, families, and team members.

• Establish individual resident schedules in conjunction with other team members.

• Develop treatment plans by identifying a target list, including short and long-term goals and methods to achieve identified goals.

• Implement and conduct treatment as outlined in treatment plan.

• Develop appropriate home or programming within the community to maintain and enhance the performance of the resident in their own environment.

• Supervise and directs Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) in the implementation of the treatment plan.

• Review the quality and appropriateness of the total services delivered and individual occupational therapy programs for effectiveness and efficiency, using predetermined criteria.

Qualifications

• Must possess, as a minimum, a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college or university.

• Two (2) years' experience is preferred, in a therapist capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility.

• Must have training in rehabilitative and restorative therapy practices.

• Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as an Occupational Therapist in this state.

• Must not have any history of involvement in fraud or be listed on the OIG exclusion listing.
