Who you are:

As an Occupational Therapist at Catholic Medical Center, you are passionate about helping our patients/families/caregivers in a time of crisis. You understand that you, along with the interdisciplinary care team, are laying the foundation for their successful recovery as they transition from inpatient care to the home or other care setting.

This is a PerDiem position. Shift begins at 7:30 AM.

What you'll do:
  • Assist patients in these techniques (this is not a complete list):
    • Self-care
    • Adaptive equipment
    • Exercises to increase functional performance and abilities in daily living skills
  • Evaluate patient's need for assistive devices, durable medical equipment, and orthotic/prosthetic needs.
    • Fit patient for assistive devices, home medical equipment and orthotic/prosthetics needs
  • Instruct patient and family/caregiver in the use of home medical equipment, adaptive equipment and/or home exercise program.
  • Assess the patient's needs immediately after the initial evaluation.
  • Actively participate in a variety of discharge meetings (nursing unit, family, team, case management).
  • Provide recommendations regarding recommended discharge disposition as well as the need for additional rehabilitation services after discharge for the facility


Qualifications

What you'll bring:
  • 1+ years' Acute Care Occupational Therapy experience is highly preferred
  • New Graduate OT candidates are accepted with a preference for those who have had their clinical rotations in an Acute Care setting
  • Graduate of an approved Occupational Therapy Program with a Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of OccupationalTherapy Degree.
  • Must be licensed in the State of New Hampshire as an Occupational Therapist by the NH Office of Licensed Allied Health Professionals.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
