The Department of Corrections is currently recruiting to fill a Limited Term Occupational Therapist LTE position. This position is based out of Dodge Correctional Institution (Waupun, Dodge County) .

Position Summary

This position plans and provides occupational therapy treatment programs at Dodge Correctional Institution including the evaluation, treatment or prevention of a disability, injury, disease or other health conditions.

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for assessing patient behavioral and functional level. This position is also responsible for developing, implementing, and modifying (as needed) an individualized treatment plan. Treatment may include but it is not limited to all aspects of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), perceptual/cognitive activities, sensory-motor activities, adaptive equipment training, splint fabrication and therapeutic activities.

The Occupational Therapist is an active member of the interdisciplinary team for coordination of patient care and disposition.

Salary Information

This position is in pay schedule and range 18-00 with a starting pay up to $50.00/hour depending on qualifications.

Job Details

Limited Term Employees must be residents of the State of Wisconsin.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.

The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.

The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

All state employees must report their COVID vaccination status, whether vaccinated or not and provide supporting documentation if vaccinated. Newly hired employees will be required to submit this information within their first two weeks of employment.

Qualifications

Minimally qualified applicants will have experience or training using behavorial techniques in the application of occupational therapy interventions.

Special Requirements: Candidates must be certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy and Licensed and licensed or eligible for Licensure by the Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing.

Candidate must maintain an active certification to perform CPR.
