Position Purpose

To assist students with documented disabilities registered with the Office of Accessibility Services.

Duties include, but not limited to:
  • Serve as the first point of contact for the Office of Accessibility Services.
  • Greet and assist office visitors, answer general questions, answer phones, respond to and send emails, scan, file, shred, run errands, and perform any other assigned duties.
  • Administering, monitoring, and proctoring assessments with academic integrity.
  • Conversion of textbooks into alternative accessible formats using various technologies.
  • Providing approved accommodations during testing as indicated on a student's Letter of Accommodation.
    • Given the nature of some accommodations, the selected candidate must exhibit proficient communication skills, particularly in speaking and writing the English language.
    • Candidates selected for an interview will be asked to demonstrate proficiency.
Vital responsibilities include:
  • Strict adherence to legal requirements surrounding confidentiality of student information and ethical responsibilities regarding access to exams.
  • Availability to work until the end of finals week.
The ideal candidate must have a cumulative GPA of 3.00, exhibit a strong work ethic, exercise sound judgment, and work collaboratively as a team player. They must be dependable, reliable, punctual, conscientious, and self-motivated to accomplish tasks without constant supervision. The candidate must possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Additionally, they must have a friendly, positive, and professional attitude.
