University Behavioral Health of Denton is a private freestanding psychiatric hospital specializing in mental health and chemical dependency care. Serving North Texas and surrounding areas, UBH Denton has provided a range of programs treating mental health illnesses and substance abuse issues since 2005. Position Summary:

The Health Information Coder establishes and maintains an audit schedule, conducts compliance audits, and may conduct billing statement audits to evaluate network wide compliance with governmental entities such as Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS). The Health Information Coder is also responsible for carrying out the activities of the Health Information Services Department in the maintenance of all patient medical records information, ensuring compliance with all state and federal laws, rules/regulations of licensing agencies and within The Joint Commission standards for the quality of patient care.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Associates in Applied Science or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Experience: Previous experience in information management and direct experience in a health care psychiatric facility preferred.

Licensure/Certification: RHIT preferred, Medical Coder Certification required.
