Onsite - Project Mechanical Engineer

Insight Global is looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer. This person designs and details the client's systems, as well as all associated subsystems. Systems will consist primarily of existing products integrated with third-party and customer provided components to create a complete solution. The majority of the work occurs in SolidWorks 3D to first generate a detailed accurate model and then create assembly and installation drawings for field install team.
* Engineer and design industrial layouts in SolidWorks 3D software
* Prepare manufacturing and construction detail drawings to meet customer specifications
* Ensure overall system capacities meet requirements of the project
* Provide Sales and Pre-Construction teams with latest design information
* Prepare and update Bill of Materials for each phase of the design
* Perform computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modelling of booth air flows
* Perform Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) on design structures
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes within the Engineering department
* Work with vendors to ensure purchased & manufactured component conform to relevant standards
* Communicate with customers and Project Managers at all phases of the project to ensure expectations are being met
* Play an active role in the Corrective Action process and take ownership in the continuous improvements of our products/designs
* Other tasks and duties based upon business needs.

Required Skills & Experience
* Bachelor's Degree -- engineering field
* 2-5+ years of professional experience as a mechanical or project engineer
* experience using Navisworks, Revit, or inventor
* specifically with fabrication, sheet metal, weldments, steel, carbon
* Experience with the design and layout of industrial equipment and facilities
* Experience with SolidWorks
* Understanding of assembly, construction, or industrial processes
* Understanding of industrial plant operations and maintenance to help ensure systems can be efficiently installed and maintained in existing facilities
* Experience customer/client facing, advocating for projects
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
* Experience with Capital equipment
* Working knowledge of Revit architectureandbuilding design software
* Working knowledge of industrial HVAC and ventilation design
