The Department of Dermatology at the University of Virginia is seeking candidates for a full-time or part time, tenure on non-tenure, open rank Professor of Dermatology specializing in Mohs Surgery. The Department sees approximately 25,000 visits at its main campus and is looking for a second Mohs surgeon to complement our team of clinicians. A commitment to teaching, clinical excellence and academic scholarship is essential. Duties include teaching of residents and medical students, direct patient care, and participation in scholarly activities.

The University of Virginia Department of Dermatology, founded in 1924, is the oldest dermatology department in the South. Its mission is to enrich the quality of human life by improving health, to produce excellent and compassionate care for our patients, to advance the field of dermatology, to seek medical and scientific knowledge, and to create an environment for professional preparation of individuals dedicated to health care service in the field of Dermatology.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must have an MD or DO and be ABMS board-certified or board-eligible in dermatology and fellowship trained in Mohs Surgery. Must be eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Rank is dependent on qualifications, experience, scholarly achievement, clinical service, and research.

This position will remain open until filled. The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment. A completed pre-employment health screen is required for this position prior to employment.
