The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Virginia School of Medicine is seeking applicants for a tenure-eligible faculty position specializing in Surgical Retina with additional experience in Ocular Oncology. The department currently serves as the ophthalmic referral center for central and western Virginia and parts of West Virginia, North Carolina, and eastern Tennessee. The abundance of the patient volume provides excellent opportunities for advancement in ophthalmology.

Qualified candidates must have an MD or equivalent by appointment start date and completed a fellowship in surgical retina. The incumbent must be committed to a career in academic medicine and interested in combining clinical practice with resident education and/or research. Must be American Board of Ophthalmology certified or board-eligible.

Salary, rank, and tenure are commensurate with education and experience.

This position will remain open until filled. The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment. A completed pre-employment health screen is required for this position prior to employment.
