Job Summary:

The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Adolescent Medicine, has an opening for a part-time Instructor or Assistant Professor. We are accepting applicants who are APPs or Board Certified/Eligible Adolescent Medicine physicians.

If an APP, the FTE is .6 and the faculty member will be 100% clinical. This equates to 4.5-5 outpatient clinical sessions/week. Each session is four hours in length. This faculty member will be responsible for providing direct clinical care to adolescent patients.

If a physician, the FTE is .6 to .8, with .6 clinical effort and up to .2 protected time. As a .6cFTE, this equates to 4.5-5 outpatient clinical sessions/week. Each session is four hours in length. This faculty member will have responsibilities providing direct clinical care to adolescent patients; teaching Adolescent Medicine fellows, residents, and medical students; and sharing in on-call rotation.

Key Responsibilities:

APP:

  • Provide direct clinical care to adolescents in the Adolescent Medicine Clinic


Physician:

  • Provide direct clinical care to adolescents in the Adolescent Medicine Clinic
  • Function as "Faculty Attending" in the Adolescent Medicine Clinic. When Attending, the provider will work in the clinic to provide care for patients on their panel, same day sick visits for other providers, and manage walk-ins and overbook requests.
  • Participate in the shared "on-call" rotation with other faculty members in Adolescent Medicine

The Section also has an inpatient Adolescent Medicine service and faculty share inpatient and on-call coverage. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Instructor-APP:

  • Graduate degree from an accredited school of nursing or physician assistant program
  • Current FNP certification or PA certification
  • Clinical experience with adolescents as a FNP or PA
  • Minimum of one year of experience in practice as a FNP or PA


Assistant Professor-Physician:

  • MD or DO Degree
  • Board Eligible or Certified in Adolescent Medicine.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in clinical adolescent medicine, with excellent reviews (can include fellowship experience)
  • Minimum of two years of experience in graduate medical education (can include students, residents, fellows), with excellent reviews (can include fellowship experience)


Condition of Employment:

  • Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado
  • Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications:

Instructor-APP:

  • More than one year of clinical experience with adolescents
  • Exemplary track record in seeing a broad array of clinical problems with demonstrated experience in caring for complex adolescent physical and psychosocial problems.
  • Experience in treatment of common gynecological and behavioral health concerns
  • Spanish speaking preferred, but not required.


Assistant Professor-Physician:

  • More than three years of experience in clinical adolescent medicine
  • More than three years of experience in graduate medical education
  • Exemplary track record in seeing a broad array of clinical problems with demonstrated experience in caring for complex adolescent physical and psychosocial problems.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • The candidate must be both efficient clinically, as well as being comprehensive in clinical care delivery, while adhering to the highest quality metrics.
  • Proficient in providing care to adolescents and young adults
  • Effective communication skills and ability to successfully work on a multidisciplinary team

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

Instructor-APP: $103,000 - $115,000 at 1.0FTE

Assistant Professor-Physician: $164,011 - $171,120 at 1.0FTE

The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
