Open Rank Position in Statistics, Data Science or Actuarial Science

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics in the Swenson College of Science and Engineering at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) invites applications for an open rank tenure-line professor position that will begin on August 18, 2025. This is a full-time, 9-month position. The priority area for this hire is statistics, including data science and actuarial science.

Our Department is invested in supporting research scholars, and successful candidates will establish robust and independent research programs, which includes mentorship and advising of undergraduates and graduate students. We encourage and expect faculty to seek external research funding. Faculty members will contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching, advising, and mentoring, while supporting diversity, equity, inclusion, and a commitment to justice. About the Department

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics is committed to providing engaging and contemporary learning environments for all students.
