Duties
JOB SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an alternate point of contact for the Director, Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security (DPTMS) or Director, Plans, Operations, Training and Security (DPOTS) and his/her representative of installation mission related programs in establishing and maintaining policies, executing administrative programs and projects, and resolving problems involving DPTMS/DPOTS mission related issues. The incumbent has responsibility to monitor, evaluate, and report progress to Director on selected high visibility projects for which DPTMS/DPOTS has assigned responsibility. As a senior staff advisor, incumbent provides staff support, technical advice, and assistance integrating and coordinating the execution of the DPTMS/DPOTS missions and functions. The incumbent assists the DPTMS/DPOTS as required. Provides the DPTMS/DPOTS with recommendations for short- and long-range projects with final authority to approve, alter, or reject proposals. As directed, conducts and/or attends high level meetings and serves on key garrison committees and boards. Provides staff recommendations on DPTMS/DPOTS program goals and objectives and assesses and evaluates program execution. In the absence of the DPTMS/DPOTS, directs, plans, manages and coordinates DPTMS/DPOTS programs and resources.
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Connecticut Army National Guard.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume and any other supporting documentation you wish to provide must clearly substantiate you currently possess 36 months of specialized experience in the following:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENT: All applications will be considered regardless of Branch/AOC/FA/MOS. Incumbent will be required to be assigned to compatible military position within 1 year of selection. The selected individual may be required to attend formal technician school training.

UNIT OF ASSIGNMENT: Any unit within state
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT: Training at the National Guard Professional Education Center (NGPEC) is a mandatory condition of employment, subject to availability of resources. NGB prescribed courses at NGPEC must be completed within 6 months of assignment to this position. Failure to complete course(s) may result in reassignment or termination of full-time employment unless extenuating circumstances preclude course attendance.

Incentive Termination without Recoupment: If you accept a Military Technician (Mil Tech) Permanent position where membership in the National Guard is a condition of employment, your bonus will be terminated with no recoupment as long as you have served at least 6 months of the bonus contract following receipt of the initial bonus payment.

- Serves as senior operations officer for integration and synchronization of DPTMS/DPOTS operations for the Garrison Training Center and training support.
- Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities as directed by the DPTMS/DPOTS.
- Assists the DPTMS/DPOTS in executing, coordinating, and integrating assigned mission, functions, and operations.
- Accomplishes special projects and undertakes numerous initiatives to improve training support integration and collective training readiness.
- Attends meetings with the DPTMS/DPOTS to stay current on various installation and garrison/ base operations (BASOPS) topics.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Must possess a valid state drivers license.
Qualifications
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume and any other supporting documentation you wish to provide must clearly substantiate you currently possess 36 months of specialized experience in the following:
- 1 year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
- Experience, education or training in program or managerial experience in a type of work or a combination of functions directly related to the position to be filled or in comparable work or functions.
- Experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations.
- Experience in supervisory, staff or technical work which included study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices and procedures.
- Experience preparing written communications and oral presentations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge in oral and written communication.
- Ability to give specific guidance relative to a particular program.
- Ability to perform a variety of administrative duties relative to a particular program.
- Skilled in the performance of standard clerical/office type duties.
