The Hourly Operations Lead will be responsible for managing the following key functions:
  • Creating an injury free work environment by motivating associates and implementing effective safety programs.
  • Identifying controls within daily operations to ensure safety, quality, environmental and production targets are met.
  • Motivating associates to continuously improve and facilitates resolution of issues/concerns.
  • Administer policies and site rules.
  • Work with Site Operations Manager, Planner, and Area General Manager to plan and coordinate the team and equipment to meet operational and maintenance schedules
  • Communicate effectively through team meetings, 1:1's, training sessions, etc.
  • Take pride in safely making a quality product that delights our customers
The successful candidate must also support the following shipping and planning functions:
  • Prepare plans for the day, releases work to ensure efficient workflow, including establishing appropriate time fences for production.
  • Support analysis and identification of replenishment items (MRP)
  • Provides leadership for operations associates in work scheduling, order release, schedule revisions, lead team meetings.
  • Works to coordinate operations work schedule with needs of sales team by maintaining constant communications with Operations Planner.
  • Forklift certified and able to load/unload and pull orders as needed.
  • Schedule equipment maintenance when needed.


Qualifications
  • Strong forklift skills demonstrated ability to load and unload flatbed trucks and picking orders.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively lead safety initiatives, as well as role model safe work practices/behaviors.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve problems and engage associates in a high-performance team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve and sustain key operating metrics/variables.
  • Demonstrated ability in effective planning, organization, and facilitation skills; with an active desire to continuously improve.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Willing and able to do evening shift work.
Preferred skills include:
  • Working knowledge of business and financial concepts.
  • Quality control skills.
  • Understanding of labor and employee relation principles.
  • Competent computer skills, including MS Office and SAP.
  • Maintenance trouble shooting skills.
  • Combi Forklift driving experience; handling long length material (36' and greater).
