Job Summary
The Operations Manager will work collaboratively with the Communication Center Commander. The supervisor will plan, organize, schedule, assign, evaluate, and directs the work of subordinate personnel; provides technical assistance in emergency communications; responds to inquiries and resolves problems raised by staff and other customers; and participates in the work of an assigned shift within the Communications Center.

The Operations Manager, works closely with police supervisory personnel, with other agencies, and with the public safety departments of other jurisdictions within the region in the coordination of operational efforts. Overall, supervision and direction are provided by the Communications Center Commander.

Must be available to work any shift (days, evenings, overnights) in a 24-hour, 7 day a week operation including weekends and holidays.

NOTE: This is an ON-SITE position. It does NOT support a hybrid work schedule.

Required Education and Experience
*High school diploma or equivalent

*3 Years dispatcher experience

*APCO certified Telecommunicator

*Communications Training Officer (CTO)

* Previous leadership experience

Required Skills and Abilities
*Monitoring and evaluating staff.

*Evaluating emergency situations and making decisions under pressure.

*Operating various communication and computer equipment such as radios, telephones and related software applications.

*Communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisors, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction
