Position Summary

Pharmacy Technicians are a foundation of the pharmacy department and drive many of the workflow activities. The expectations are to support the mission, vision, and core values of ECU Health and the pharmacy department by executing foundational dispensing activities.

Responsibilities

Clear communication skills (verbal and written)

Compounding of non-sterile products

Medication Distribution

Basic Pharmacy inventory management

Manage medication use technology

Monitor and route medication requests to appropriate personnel

Specific entities may require proficiencies in particular roles

Other duties as assigned

Hazardous non-sterile compounding

Minimum Requirements

High School or Equivalent (GED) or higher

0-2 years of related experience

Must be registered with the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire

Preferred Requirements

Associate in Applied Science (AAS) Degree - Pharmacy Technology

1 year of experience in hospital or retail pharmacy setting

Certification through National Pharmacy Technician Association - CPhT
