The United States Space Force (USSF) Headquarters Space Force Command (HQSF) at the Pentagon is searching for an Operations Research Analyst (NH-1515-04, GS 14/15 Equivalent).

Come join us as we build the U.S. Space Force. We need eager, Analytic Entrepreneurs that are looking for challenging and rewarding adventure. Build and capitalize on your analytic expertise in Human Capital, Operations, Strategy & Resource, or Technology & Innovation portfolios. Hone your communication skills as you'll likely be briefing a Colonel in the morning and a 2-Star in the afternoon. The future is Space and we need to build a military component to protect our future. As the first Digital Service, your analysis skills are critical and highly needed. Your plate will be full, you won't get bored, you'll be highly appreciated, and your efforts will have great impact.
We are looking for a self-motivator and life-long learner. An analyst who listens to the Voice of the Customer and is looking to build a portfolio of success. An Analytic Entrepreneur. We are a small team so collaboration and a willingness to crash on the latest issue at hand. Communications skills are critical as we are working at the highest-levels of the U.S. Space Force and the Department of the Air Force.
The ideal candidate would have experience in using their degree (Masters or PhD preferred) in Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or Industrial Engineering, or have a demonstrated career of using these tools of the trade to solve complex/convoluted problems. Service Headquarters experience would be a plus. Also, experience in any of Human Capital Analytics, Operations Analysis, Strategy & Resource Analysis, or Technology & Innovation Analysis, would be useful. Data visualization, R/Python training would also be a plus.
Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of analytical and evaluative methods and techniques applied to human capital management and development.
2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
3. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.
4. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
5. Skill in fact finding and investigative techniques to research problems and provide solutions.

- U.S. Citizenship Required
- This position is on-site and eligible for telework, 2-4 days per pay period.
- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret/Critical Sensitive clearance.
- May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
- May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
- Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise; employee must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
- Employee must within 30-days of assuming this position and by 31 October annually thereafter, file an OGE-450, "Confidential Financial Disclosure Report." Employee is required to attend annual ethics and procurement integrity training.
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.
- PCS funding is available.
