Overview

Under general supervision of the Director of Operations and Operations Manager, the Operations Supervisor is responsible for implementing set up and tear down of shows and in the coordination and recommendation to management of all maintenance of the complex, including the mechanical, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and ice floor systems. Flexible work schedule required.

This role will pay a hourly rate of $18.00 to $20.00/ hour

Responsibilities
• Under the direction of the Operations Manager, act as a liaison between Operations, events, production and other Crown Complex departments
• Implements any changes needed to improve operational efficiency of the buildings or events.
• Ensures employees follow safety and quality guidelines; providing guidance and direction; evaluating work and taking disciplinary action as necessary. Instructs operators and employees about procedures and practices.
• Works with subordinates hired to assist with operations and attends weekly department meetings.
• Provide timely and effective communication with management and staff on building needs
• Assists crews as necessary; obtains necessary materials and supplies.
• Performs related duties as required.
• Participates in the operation, maintenance and repair of equipment, minor electrical and plumbing repairs to expedite the return of equipment or auxiliary systems to operational status.
• Report discrepancies or necessary follow-ups to supervisor
• Perform and/or manage the installations and break downs event setup
• Perform duties and responsibilities with view toward department goals and energy conservation
• Prepare and submit requisitions for materials required to complete assigned tasks
• Plan work to ensure cost effective use of labor and materials
• Perform other general maintenance related tasks
• Operate equipment used in the maintenance of the complex such as forklifts, floor scrubbers, scissor lifts, and other maintenance equipment
• Establish and maintain cooperative-working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
• Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
• Proper use and maintenance of hand and power tools related to job functions
• Repair and maintenance in various other maintenance related functions including plumbing, painting, trades and grounds keeping
• Relevant federal, state, and local regulations
• Customer Service practices

Ability To:

• Work a flexible schedule including early mornings, days, evenings, overnight, weekends, holidays, extended (long) work days and extended numbers of days

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

Must be at least 18 years of age
• Minimum of two (2) years of related experience, preferably with an arena, convention center, hotel or other similar public assembly facility

Education / Training:
• Bachelor's/Technical degree from an accredited college/university/school preferred.
• Must show demonstrated knowledge and experience in work crew supervision in facility operations.
• Ability to work event nights, weekends and holidays as required.
• Ability to follow written instruction, preferable the ability to interpret AutoCAD drawings and execute plans.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements.
• Candidates must be able to follow orders explicitly, be capable of working as part of a team, and be able to work well with other individuals.
• Candidates should be able to work alone if required, and be able to complete tasks up to and including final clean up and putting tools and supplies back to their assigned storage areas.
• High school diploma or equivalent GED required

Licenses or Certificates:
• Forklift certification preferred
• Must have earned a valid driver's license
