Reporting into the Operations Manager, the Operations Support Supervisor will support coordinating with Shipping and Receiving Clerks and Leadership in all inbound or outbound operations of a facility by ensuring flawless execution of area processes with adherence to SOPs/SWI's and responsible for process outputs of safety, quality, and performance. This includes order-fill, replenishment, shipping or receiving, and day-to-day operations from the front-end system, in a manner geared towards operational excellence.

  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


    SUPPORT AND MANAGE TEAM OF SHIPPING AND RECEIVING CLERKS
    • Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and Standard Work Instructions (SWI's) are being adhered to by Shipping and Receiving Clerks across 24/7 shift coverage. Processes performed include:
      • Order Management-Wave/Release orders for warehouse
      • Sign driver in and out of the facility; verifying all paperwork
      • Assign dock doors to the inbound and outbound loads
      • Maintain door accuracy and yard report for trailer inventory
      • Process Bills of Lading and associated shipping and receiving documents.
      • Reconcile inbounds with packing slips and coordinate drop lot activity
      • Coordinate moves on the yard for the spotter/yard jockey
      • Provide a strong level of customer service to internal and external customers
      • Maintain Inbound and Outbound Schedules
      • Work closely with shift management and leads to accomplish shift goals.
      • Report errors and/ or issues to appropriate member of leadership to ensure accuracy
      • Ensure effective and safe use of warehouse equipment.
      • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures
    • Ensure productivity in warehouse to limited in interruptions
    • Coordinate with warehouse leadership team to ensure that products are unloaded, received, put away, selected, and loaded in the most efficient manner.
    • Plan, schedule to cover vacation, holidays, and other shift fill-ins, and coordinate employees needed to accomplish all warehousing activities
    • Monitor scheduling and workflow by balancing Clerks between all shifts
    • Monitor productivity and volume through the use of the labor management system
    • Manage employee performance through timely, consistent, and accurate performance reviews that serve to coach on expectations, reward above average performance, and identify and coach to high performance


  • PARTNER WITH KEY STAKEHOLDERS IN WAREHOUSE LEADERSHIP


    • Partner with Warehouse Leadership to reduce overtime by utilizing the Daily Planning Tool spreadsheet
    • Partner with Warehouse Leadership to work effectively with Transportation to maximize flow of receiving and shipping processes
    • Partner with Inventory Control to minimize warehouse shrink (product loss)
    • Partner with Safety Supervisor to observe and enforce all safety rules to eliminate accidents and injuries


  • OPERATIONS SUPPORT (TRAINING, PLANNING, AND ORDER MANAGEMENT)


    • Responsible for appearance, maintenance, and security of warehouse and equipment
    • Support the safety effort by working with the safety Supervisor to resolve safety issues
    • Understand and comply with all applicable company policies (i.e. attendance, Code of Conduct, Employee Handbook, etc.)
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable state/federal laws, regulations, and policies (i.e. OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration), HACCP, AIB, etc.)
    • Additional responsibilities or special projects as requested




EXPERIENCE

  • EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, & EDUCATION (IF APPLICABLE) REQUIRED
  • 5 + years of experience in warehouse or inventory operations
  • Strong mathematical and logistic operations skills
  • Strong leadership skills to provide mentoring, training or corrective feedback
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including being able to prepare presentation materials and present the information one-on-one and in a group
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel
  • Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills
  • An understanding of computer ordering systems and other IT systems
  • Fluent in English, additional language skills an advantage
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to stand, walk and sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
  • Responsible for overall safety and safe operation of motor vehicle.
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and procedures
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds frequently with mechanical assistance
  • Travel 0-10%
