Job Description:

The College of Nursing at the University of Florida is seeking an OPS Certified Nursing Assistant who will provide administrative and clinical assistance to the Archer Family Health Care clinic. Responsibilities include triaging patient phone calls, communicating and interacting with patients, preparing the patient and environment for treatment, conducting basic laboratory and in office diagnostic testing, caring for patients post treatment, and assisting with clinical tasks and laboratory procedures.

Duties include:
  • Preparing the patient for the clinical visit including obtaining medical history, vital signs, preparation of treatment room, performance of on-site diagnostic testing as ordered by the provider, maintain a clean and sterile environment for clinic operations.
  • Maintaining accurate patient records, scan documents to patients' charts and document results of diagnostic testing. Initiates and monitors health information requests from other providers.
  • Answering telephone inquiries from patients and others, triage calls to determine nature and urgency of inquiry, refers calls as appropriate and/or schedules appointments with providers, instructs patients as needed regarding administrative and/or logistical procedures.
Expected Salary:

$16.50 hourly

Minimum Requirements:

Certification as a Nursing Assistant in accordance with Section 464.203, Florida Statutes

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to work independently after orientation and training.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Computer skills in a variety of software packages appropriate to program management (e.g. Microsoft Office, etc.)
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others, and to work with the public in a courteous, friendly, and tactful manner.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of, and experience with, all standard office equipment (e.g. voice-mail systems, e-mail system, fax machine, copiers, etc.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and the behaviors necessary to handle confidential material.
  • Knowledge of clinical functions within a practice and experience with all standard clinical equipment and diagnostic testing.
