Responsibilities:

This position will provide direct operational support during flight test mission execution, as well as be responsible for pre-mission planning and post-mission reporting. Responsibilities may also include test plan and test card writing, and long-range planning.

This role is responsible for planning, execution, and reporting of flight test for the B-1, B-2, and B-52 platforms.

The following specific duties are anticipated:
  • Working with program management and flight commanders to schedule ground and flight test events.
  • Managing and scheduling the resources needed to execute test
  • Developing, briefing, and obtaining approval on safety plans intended to mitigate or eliminate risks associated with tests.
  • Attending meetings for various test efforts in order to stay informed and to advise the team as a test execution subject matter expert.
  • Writing test cards, based on the test and safety plans, to be used by the test team to execute the test.
  • Pre-briefing the test team on the plan of execution and run the debrief to collect data.
  • Serving as the primary node of communication between engineers in the control room and the test aircrew. This individual will also manage timing and event priorities in this capacity.
  • Providing inputs, based on test events, on future planning to carry the test effort forward.

Qualifications:

Required:
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
• Ability to effectively function and make decisions in dynamic, high-pressure environments.
• Possess the reputation of being a team player and work well in a team environment, as well as independently.
• Experience generating post flight mission reports and other detailed formal reports.
• Position requires willingness to accept changing and evolving roles & responsibilities in support of customers' requirements and need.

Desired:
• Developmental Test and Operational Test operations experience
• Previous experience in flight testing fighter or bomber aircraft
• Experience in flight test of avionics systems, weapons, live fires and releases, and sensor testing
• Experience in Electronic Warfare and RF/IR Countermeasures
• Previous experience in aero performance/flight envelope expansion
• Previous experience as aircrew member (Pilot, EWO, NAV, etc.)
• Private Pilot license is a plus
• Test Pilot School Graduate a plus

Education:
Bachelors degree required. Degreen in a STEM field of study highly preferred.

Clearance Requirements:
Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and ability to attain special program access is required. A Secret clearance may be acceptable to start.

Travel:

Approximately 10% travel may be required

U.S. Citizenship required

The pay range for this position in California is $110,000/year to $185,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
