This customer is responsible for designing, building, and operating national security-related systems based in space, in the air, and on the ground. SAIC is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with NRO experience to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services to a rapidly expanding Government Intelligence Community (IC) customer.
This position supports a System Program Office (SPO) in a technical capacity for planning, execution, monitoring, and oversight of system development and acquisitions that advance the NRO's space resiliency posture.
The systems engineer will join a team of on-site SETAs with responsibilities that may include but are not limited to the following:

This position supports a System Program Office (SPO) in a technical capacity for planning, execution, monitoring, and oversight of system development and acquisitions that advance the NRO's space resiliency posture.
The systems engineer will join a team of on-site SETAs with responsibilities that may include but are not limited to the following:
- Lead program through the Systems Engineering process
- Communicate across organizational boundaries
- Participate in the development, management, and assessment of program acquisition/engineering documentation
- Review system level requirements and concepts of operation
- Assess impacts of changes to functional/system/enterprise requirements on the architecture, interfaces, and verification/validation plans
- Oversee system verification and validation process
- Develop products in support of system level requirements and interface specifications for IC systems to leadership
- Participate in technical interchange meetings between developers and the COTR
Required Qualifications:
- Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree in systems / aeronautical / mechanical engineering, or scientific/technical discipline with at least 9 or more years of relevant experience OR Master's degree in systems / aeronautical / mechanical engineering, or scientific/technical discipline with at least 7 years or more relevant experience.
- Knowledge of optical system design, analysis, manufacture and test
- Experience with IC systems engineering process
- Effective communication, coordination, and customer engagement skills.
- Strong written and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and team environment
